There are 2 programs. 1 for teachers including speech teachers and 1 for slps. Basically, you have to work for 10 years nonstop at a nonprofit agency or at a school. I'm so confused! they say that you're not eligable if you consolidate your loans (meaning taking the loans out for 25 years). Yet, they say you have to consolidate because the government will pay off the balance of the 25 years once you reach 10 years of payments/10 years of nonstop work. Anyhow, if you've been denied becuase lack of teacher cert then you have to apply to the nonprofit area of the deal which includes anyone working for a nonprofit including nurses, social workers or any workers from nonprofits. Keep trying. In fact, I have to find out where to find the apps.
