First, you need to be confident in yourself. I know that it is overwhelming your first year in the profession and you have a lot of doubt in yourself and your skills. Believe me, you are not the only one who feels this way. You're probably being harder on yourself than anyone else. This is my fourth year and I still get overwhelmed sometimes. I think that you are already on your way to becoming a great SLP by asking this question. It appears that you have your students' best interest at heart also. Use this website to get creative/interesting therapy material. I get ALOT of great games, worksheets, etc from this website that I use in therapy and the kids enjoy it. Sometimes, they even ask if they can play a game we've played a thousand times before. Just make sure you are having fun in therapy as well. If you are bored, they will be bored too. Also, think about doing thematic units to make therapy planning easier. This school term, I am doing everything based upon the month's theme/season. This month is all about Halloween and Fall. November will be all about Thanksgiving and so on. This website has great thematic activities that students enjoy. As far as conducting therapy improperly, ask you CF supervisor ways to improve it. I travel also. The trunk of my car has all kinds of stuff in it!!! Like I said before, just be confident in yourself and what you are doing!!!
