Intelligibility

I have a 3 yr old client who is receptively and expressive within normal limits. The problem is he is unintelligible! Anyone have any ideas how to increase his intelligibility? He has all the sounds in his phonetic inventory that he is suppose to at his age, however.. he tends to mix up his plosives with other plosives... example /t/ for /d/, /g/ for /d/ etc. Any ideas on where to start!??
