I used a turtle theme to start out my school year with a bulletin board slogan "Keeping Pace in the Great Speech & Language Race". I had found a bulletin board pack at a teacher store that included different turtles racing and trophies that I wrote "fluency", "articulation" etc. on. I also had a poster that said "Behold the turtle-it makes progress by sticking out its neck." Right now I have up an ocean/beach theme that says "Rowing Toward Speech Treasures" and there is a treasure box on the beach and the kids have their names on boats in the water.
