GO ANDY What state are you in. The website was great..unless "it's up to the STATE to decide. Need to get the manual for each state. We as SLPs don't need to worry about getting sued. That's the district's problem. With the compliance specialist the person in charge of legality and then the main ESE office reviews all the paperwork. I was provided a calendar that gave the 60 day school week date next to every school day for the year. Child absenses adds on a few days to the 60 day time line( but that should probably be found in writing). I don't sign an IEP if I wasn't "comfortable" with another SLP's eval when subjective vague testing was used as the only area to qualify as language impaired( for an autism diagnosis) esp if the kid will be billed medicaid BUT,,,,that's another issue. I'm pulling up FL regs today. OH FL allows 6 months for a kid to be re-evaled when coming in from out of FL. In another state I worked yrs ago, we had 30 days to get the psych, and slp evals and IEP done.IF YOU HAVE THE FL SITE FOR IDEA INFO SEND IT TO ME THANKS
