I'm an SLP that works with young children on the spectrum. Here are a few resource ideas you could use while you're in a waiting pattern.
We have found that music really encourages the growth of language. There are some really wonderful sets of CDs called Kids' Express Train. Their website is www.expresstrain.org We have had many children begin to speak more due to music.
A book resource is "Initiations and Interactions: Early Intervention Techniques for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders" by Teresa Cardon. It is a very parent-friendly practical guide to promoting communication and language development.
A website resource ishttp://autismgames.googlepages.com This site is maintained by an SLP who has LOTS of experience working with ASD kiddos, and it is full of great ideas and video clips of her ideas.
Hope these resources are helpful. I wish you happiness on the journey with your daughter!
