I agree that it is apalling that people should have to travel all the way to the ground only to find out the match is off (my younger brother travelled to Olney this morning to play for the under 14's only to find the match had been cancelled.) I also agree that Robin Harding is having to do too much and it is phenomenal how good the grass wickets looked on Thursday evening (Chappy and I both noticed this immediately), a tribute to him (I know John Nuttall has also been preparing them.) Surely it would be a much better and more efficient for everyone to chip in and do a little bit for the club eg. 5 people sort out the pitch instead of 2. 'El Gordo' mentioned that people are too scared for change and this was not more apparent back in January when I suggested that we enter a competition to enhance the club's facilities and improve the standard of Cricket. No-one replied so I didn't enter as it seemed nobody was interested even though we fulfilled all the criteria. I hope I don't sound like one of the "too many chiefs", but more like an outspoken "indian" that wants to see his club thrive.
