On the occassion of my father, Thomas Ross McKee's 90th birthday (Oct 16, 2005), I am interested in geneology of my family pre-America. My dads father (Thomas McKee - born 1887) and mother (Catherine Ross - born 1890) are both from Belfast, Ireland and came to the US, settling in Kearny, NJ and getting married there in 1913. My dads father had two brothers (Timothy and Ferdinand) and all three brothers were the sons of Thomas and Margaret McDowell McKee. It's at this point in time we are unable to trace our family tree any further. We're pretty sure that the family came to Ireland from Scotland but are not sure of the origination of our McKee name and whether it was something else while in Scotland. We're proud of our name and heritage and only wish we could understand it's origins more fully.
