Sandra, I just ran cross this message; I don't know how I missed it earlier.
Guess I parked it in "save" for later.
You say there is a Veasy buried in Franklin Cemetery. Is he related to you? Widow Margaret McKee, marrd. John Veasy, and after staying on her farm for 15 years, they moved on?? On your "grandfathers tombstone is the name Bessie, daughter of Samuel W. McKee." Whose grave is it, his or hers? Does it show her to be mard. to Edward Pierce? And Samuel, probably father of James. I have three generations of Samuels with "W"s as a middle initial.
It is the father of my James for whom I search. My James named his son Sam.W.
too, and he had a dtr., Sarah, maybe Martha too.
My mystery Samuel Jr, son of Samuel and Margaret McKee, thought to have mard. Nancy McConnel, tho she is nowhere shown on deed a deed, must've died young. He is shown to have bought his mothers, now Veasy, farm in 1814, I think. But the funny thing is, he bought it with a John McKee. Not a brother. He must've been a cousin. The census shows them still living there in the '30's?? with a couple of others. Samuel was born about 1775, getting old. If it is the same Saml., an Ann McKee bought his land. I'm wondering if this is your John McKee?
What can you tell me about him. Could his father have been close neighbor, Robert, tied closely to Samuel. Robert is the one who, I think mistakenly is shown on net to have been the father of exactly the same names as Samuel d. 1780, shown in Hannastown Orphan Court records. I know this is confusing.
