Unknown Grandpa

I am the daughter of Edward Mckee born in Brooklyn NY. He is the son of Dorothy (Keeler, I believe) It is my understanding that my grandmother marriend my grandfather, had my father, grandfather went to kail (I do not know why). And now I do not have a family tree...can anyone help? My grandmother remarried later to a gentleman named Cannon. I do know dad was born in Brooklyn, I think, or Elmira NY. She divorced him while he was in prison. Any help?
