: I have just published SAMUEL MCKEE AND HIS
: FAMILY, and can send a flyer/order form to
: anyone who will contact me.
:
: Samuel McKee was married in Augusta County,
: Virginia, in 1762, owned land near
: present-day Fort Defiance, and moved with
: his family to Fayette County, Kentucky, by
: 1790. His children were sons William, James,
: David, Samuel Jr., Archibald, and John, and
: daughters Jane, Elizabeth, and Polly. Jane
: married John Story, a Rev War veteran.
:
: In the book I trace the lines of William,
: David, Samuel Jr., and Jane, and have
: information on over 3900 of their
: descendants, and over 2200 of the
: descendants' spouses.
:
: William and David farmed in Harrison County,
: Kentucky, and both died there. Samuel McKee
: Jr., was one of the first doctors in
: Vincennes, Indiana. Jane McKee Story lived
: most of her life in Kentucky, but after her
: husband died she spent her final years with
: a son in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
:
: Most of William McKee's children moved to
: Illinois. David's sons and daughters moved
: to Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Samuel
: Jr. had two sons, Archibald Buntin McKee who
: remained in Indiana, and Francis Vigo McKee,
: who lived for a few years in Georgia, then
: returned to Indiana, and went to Texas in
: 1839 after his first wife died. Jane Story's
: children lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana,
: and Tennessee. Subsequent generations of
: these families lived in nearly every state
: in the country.
