Once of my ancestors was William Robert McKee, born in the U.S., in 1785. I am looking for the names of his parents. I am very sure their ancestors emigrated from Ireland, and that at some time people of that surname (or McGee?) may well have emigrated from Scotland to Ireland. My grandparents' surnames were McKee, Lee, Ferrill and Kirkwood, and I expect that people of those surnames originated from Ireland, or Scotland. From test results received thus far from FTDNA
I have a pretty good idea that my branch of the McKee's lived in Northwest Ireland. I hope all that gives you some idea. I would like very much to receive any information you gather on the McKee surname.
