I finished the book, and personally I found it quite interesting. It does take a good look at the MacCrimmon history - both good and bad. The book itself is not a "hurray the MacCrimmon are great" type of book, but provides, what I think, is a balanced look at the history. It is a thin book, but does cover a lot of history - not just the MacCrimmons, but the history of piping, the clans system as well as the highland clearances. It also gives a brief history of the remaining family lines - which I found interesting because it mentions that Donald Raudh's son Donald (my g-g grandfather) settled in Woodville Ontario. And his grave is still there! So I enjoyed the family reference!! It cost about 11 pounds, and in my opinion, was worth every penny. It took less than 4 weeks from the time I mailed the money order till I received the book. Great, fast customer service. That is my opinion, so I hope that it helps. Tim
