New findings on early MacCrimmons suggests that they may have originated (certainly populated) the Highlands as opposed to the islands before beoming a sept of the MacLeods. Early records identify MacCrimmons, including one described as a 'pyper' in Perthshire long before any record of them in Skye. Is this another nail in the coffin of the Cremon legend?
