Firstly many many thanks for your kind message and all the support you gave - and I am so sorry that it has taken so long to reply but my little cherubs downloaded some viruses off the computer so I have finally seconded to buying a new machine
Pete left Sarah and her mum in Wales when Sarah was three and a meeting when she was fourteen did not go well - no contact was made and unfortunately letters from Sarah were not forwarded on to Pete - they have been in contact by phone and are coming to Luton on the 24th November? to meet and Sarah has asked Pete to give her away at her wedding in September next year!!
Beforehand whilst researching the Maccrimmon family tree I had searched for my own father -very casually by typing his name into google - it came up with two contacts and I sat on them for approx 3 months - in October after Katie had been christened I decided to bite the bullet and sent two emails- on the 8th Nov I got a reply from my dad who had been looking for me for 35years with his wife - he is a Captain of a ship, lives as an expat in Vietnam with his new wife and my stepmum and her new partner (they split in 2000) have been amazing -I have a new brother and sister and Dad paid for us all to go to Australia for three weeks - so most of the year has been taken up with this - I had never met my dad and the irony of it all was that Sara posted her email within minutes of me meeting my dad at Singapore Airport
I hope that this gives you some inspiration as in all honesty if it hadn't been the Maccrimmon Website - I wouldn't of had any inkling to search for my dad on the web. Maybe this year we can meet up and have a chat
