catherine macdonald nee grant

Is there anyone who can help me prove that my ancestor catherine MacDonald nee Grant was actually the daughter of James Grant. She married in Australia in 1856. We know NOTHING of her before then. I believe she could be the catherine Grant located in the 1841 and 1851 census living with her grand-mother Margaret stewart/ MacKenzie in the village of Erisco. Is there anyone who can help? I would like to know when she came to australia and on what ship etc.Thank you Marie Hodgkinson
