Hi Alan,
Thanks for the reply. I'm living in Cheshire just now and have been here for the past 10 yrs after moving from Canada. I have not lived in Scotland since 1990 but visit regularly as I have a daughter still living there. I was born and brought up in Greenock. Where are you?
I would just like to confirm that you have Marion MacDonald as the wife of John McCrimmon. I have seen other families with Marion McRae as the wife of John McCrimmon but they have the same family members so I'm a bit confused. I have copies of all the family's death certs. and they definately state that the mother is Marion MacDonald. I also have a copy of her death cert. but I can't find one for John, I presume that he died before 1855 when registration of deaths began.
Hope that all makes sense.
