Don't know the specific answer to your question but I know many earlier members of the family left the Telfair Co. (note spelling) area and relocated a county or two west ... Coffee, Irwin, Ben Hill, etc. There is another group of McCrimmons in some of the same area ... they are descendants of Dr. Duncan Franklin McCrimmon of Wilcox (Rochelle) and Irwin Co. (House Creek)area.
Hope this helps get you started. I have some of the ancestors of the Archibald you are pursuing.
