My grandfather was Peter John McCrimmon (DOB 1890 approx), from the Lochiel/McCrimmon/Vankleek Hill/Dalkeith area, with siblings, Neil, Katherine, Mary and John. I have just come across a conection to Lynn MA in about 1908 through a family photo I have just unearthed done by CE Shorey, circa 1908, in Lane, Mass. My memory is that the family travelled there after the death of their ______(father, I am thinking ) to stay with relatives..uncertain of whether McCrimmon or in-laws. If anyone knows of a MA connection in that time period, could you please advise me? By 1912, my grandfather was in western Canada working as a steam engineer, building a dam on the Bow River west of Calgary, with the entire family relocating to Calgary to a house on 12 Avenue and 1 Street NW... now a Scotia Bank parking lot.
At some point, apparently a family friend was "Harry Chadwick"...friend of the McCrimmon brothers in Canada, an artist---painter--- and remittance man,and frequent visitor at my grandparent's home when my dad was a child (early 1930s during the depresion). Has anyone got a Chadwick connection to the McCrimmons at the start of the 20th C? I am wondering about the MA connection.
(Information is from a primary source, and not annotated/documented on a website as yet...many thanks in advance for anyone who can shed light on my questions.)
