I found this thread searching on my family tree. Laura and Robert were the parents of your ancestor John and my ancestor Samuel.
Samuel Fulton married Rosa Pendergrass and they were the parents of my grandfather, Samuel, who grew up in the plantation house in Kingstree which my mother and uncle inherited when he passed away.
Through my research the lineage goes all the way back to John Witherspoon, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and President of Princeton, to John Knox, John Welsh, and Robert the Bruce.

I grew up in Bangor, Maine. My grandfather Samuel joined the Coast Guard, served during WWII, and married my grandmother, Avis Harmon of Caribou... that's a long way from Kingstree!
