Hey Brandon,
Depending on the report, you could set the TOTALS to 'Subtotal When' at every change in Desc1. It doesn't really matter what it tries subtotaling, as long as there is at least one filed under 'Subtotal What'. It will just add an extra line underneach each change of Desc1 with an 's' to the far right.
