What's the purpose of entering a dummy number? You might find it's easier to change your WS Prefs to (1) Not capture the CC# so that you can just choose the type or (2) Turn off the option for CHecksum verification so you can enter any # in the CC field.
Because a receipt is a history document, the correct way to edit details such as tender is to COPY>RETURN and then COPY>CORRECT. It comes back to having an audit trail for everything that's happened....especially when tender media is involved.
