It is interesting that your History of Mayday ignores a rather important
historical event which would tie in nicely with your focus on global labor
solidarity. On May 1, 1776 Adam Weishaupt completed his plan for
global domination through the destruction of all governments and
religious institutions through a network of conspirators known at the
time as the 'Illuminati'. THIS is the root of the USSR's Mayday observance,
NOT the 1886 Haymarket incident as mentioned in Michael Thomas'
article 'May Day in the USA: A Forgotten History'. Note that the red flag
of the labor solidarity movement is used by Communist China and the
USSR.
