I too recall May Day as one of my favorite childhood holidays. Growing up in San Jose, California, I remember having cardboard punch-out baskets - I think they were from Hallmark. There were several different shapes and sizes decorated in an old fashioned way. We'd punch them out,put them together, fill them with flowers from the garden, sneak on to our neighbors' porches, put them on the front door knob, ring the bell and run away. I loved it.
I have always hoped that Hallmark would reprint these, but I've never seen them anywhere. Does anyone else remember these Hallmark baskets or know anything more about them??
