Hong May Day is more than just a day of remembering Labor's fight for workplace justice - it is a constant renewal of sustaining international solidarity between workers across the world. At the Worker's Memorial May Day Festival 2003 in New York, it is also an occasion to engender a strong, enduring voice of resistance made up of artists, poets, musicians, and scholars. The Workers Consort/ Workers Edutainment Committee would like to invite all labor unions, labor rights organizations, student activist groups, and allies working for labor justice and workers rights the May Day Solidarity Action in Union Square. We have applied for a permit and will have a short performance portion. All groups working in the resistance against labor exploitation or capitalism are invited to come and hold an action. We highly encourage all organizations and student groups working for labor justice and workers’ rights to celebrate May Day in solidarity with all workers around the world. The Workers Consort/Workers Edutainment Committee would also like to offer web space and inclusion of your action in all other May Day Festival materials. Please reply to workerx@mail.com or maydayfest@yahoo.com if your group or organization would like to be part of the event. We are also strongly in need of volunteers, especially for the May Day street team. In addition, all individual performance artists are invited to come share their work in the performance portion. Please reply for details. The May Day rally is on May 1, from 4 PM – 8 PM in Union Square. (N,R,Q, 4, 5, 6, or L to Union Square station.) ****************************** The Workers Memorial May Day 2003 Festival is currently endorsed by: AFSCME DC 1707

We would like to invite your organization to join our action in celebration of May Day in a Solidarity Rally in Union Square. If your group is working on issue to which you would like to bring attention and gather allies, please consider sharing this day of action with us.
By elevating the arts to more than its current place as an accessory to social justice, we believe that a change in culture and media can be a locus of social change and organizing itself.
