I have made May baskets from tissue paper for years. My favorites are parasol/umbrella baskets made from a square of pastel-colored paper and the 4 corners are brought together and glued to a wooden cyclindrical doll. I cut strips of tissue to paper and fringe it for the ends, etc. I also make baskets using newspapers shaped into a cone or boxes of oatmeal cut in half. I use the same kinds of fringed strips to cover the boxes/cones by gluing the strips to the containers. I fill them with popcorn and small candies. It's a tedious process but so worth it to see the smiles on peoples faces.
