Posted by Josh Bowe on 5/3/2002, 8:45 am Communism is precisely the godless utopia envisioned in John Lennon's song "Imagine", where there are no possessions, no countries, and no individuals. Communists are the wretched sub-human waste of society, whose heroes include Stalin, Castro, and Ho-Chi-Min, history's most bloodthirsty butchers. Communists build walls around their countries, not to keep invaders out, but to keep their citizens in. They see the world from an inverted perspective, viewing freedom as slavery, and slavery as freedom. They treat people like animals, and as such, they themselves are animals of the lowest form. Communists hate freedom and individual achievement. They loath religion and patriotism. They scorn marriage, traditional values, and moral codes of behavior. Karl Marx, socialism's godfather, decried the institutions of marriage and family as symbols of capitalist oppression and obstacles to the revolution. 1. Soviet Union As you can see, communism kills.
Once again, May Day has come and gone, the one day of the year when members of the Communist Workers Party International and other activist groups all get together to rally against freedom. Plates of beans, considered a worker's staple, were handed out to May Day celebrants in Europe. Here in Minneapolis, warmed over hippies took a break from volunteering at their local organic food co-ops and community theatres to march for social justice, worker's rights, and affordable housing.
In years past, May Day revelers were treated to pictures of Soviet parades displaying tanks, missiles, and lots of red. But no such inspiration would be found on this May Day. In fact, it's been a difficult year for our socialist friends. Mother Russia has now adopted Reaganomics and is experiencing an economic recovery. Britain's experiment with socialized health care is headed toward bankruptcy. Their hero, Fidel Castro, has one foot in the grave. Worst of all, Nicaraguan communist presidential candidate, Daniel Ortega, has lost yet another election (Jimmy Carter's demanding a recount).
Nonetheless, there are a few reasons for commies to celebrate May Day this year:
1. All those Chinese contributions to the Clinton and Gore campaigns seem to have paid off. The defense department now estimates that China has the technology to develop nuclear missiles, capable of reaching the United States, within 15 years.
2. The chi-coms also gained a seat on the United Nation's Human Rights Council, while the United States was kicked off.
3. Paul Wellstone is seeking another senate term.
On this May Day, while our degenerate comrades wave their red flags and eat free plates of beans, the rest of us should take a moment to remember what communism is and how many people it has killed.
Communism is the most inhumane social experiment ever contrived. Although their experiment has clearly failed, like mad scientists bent on sadism, communists and socialists continue to treat the world as if it were their laboratory, and people as their guinea pigs.
A more fitting name for communism's proverbial birthday would be Hate Day, as its celebrants are the most hate-filled of all people. Communists teach hatred for anyone who is financially ambitious, and for anyone who believes in God. They teach the worker to hate his employer. They encourage him to hate his neighbor as well, should he own an extra acre of land. They teach boys to resent their fathers, and husbands to resent their wives.
No other political movement, not even nazism, has waged genocide on the scale that communism has. Communists have sought to eliminate the religious, the bourgeoisie (middle class), the educated, and anyone who disagrees with their ideals. Although none have ever stood trial for their crimes against humanity, historians estimate that over one hundred million people have been killed by the communist holocausts of the last century.
Professor Bryan Caplan writes, "...using almost any scholarly tabulations (and even official Communist pronouncements), the government of the USSR murdered more non-combatants than any other in the 20th-century. Communist China comes in second. Out of the top ten most murderous regimes in this century, five were Communist, according to the ranking provided by R.J. Rummel in his Death By Government:
2. Communist China
3. Nazi Germany
4. Nationalist China
5. Imperial Japan
6. Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge
7. Turkey under the Young Turks
8. Communist Vietnam
9. Communist Poland
10. Pakistan under Yahya Khan"
What would the public response be for a holiday and a parade commemorating the birthday of nazism? History correctly recognizes the leaders of Nazi Germany as wretched murderers, yet their communist counterparts are often characterized simply as "ambitious" or "charismatic". Were Stalin and Pol Pot any less vile than Hitler and Mussolini? Are today's communists any less hateful and dangerous than the neo-nazis?
Why is there the disparity in public perception? Could it be because the nazis have targeted only certain races and religions (Jews, Catholics, non-whites), while communists kill indiscriminate of race or creed? Is it because communists practice equal opportunity genocide? Or could the disparity be, in part, because socialist ideals are so popular with the elites of our universities and media? It's well known that many of the most renowned professors at Harvard, Berkeley, and other institutions are committed socialists. While they may disagree with revolutionary genocide, they have no problem ignoring it.
Sorry to rain on the parade, but I can't ignore the evil that May Day promotes. That being said, happy May Day!
