The gorge and Loutro at the end of October

Two things. Firstly I am hoping to visit Loutro somewhere between 23 and 30 October. Never been this late in the year. What is it like? Are all the resteruants still open? Also do we have any firm idea yet when the gorge will close. I have been given two dates. One the 20th and the other the 31 if the rain holds off. Anyone heard anything? I take it there is only one ferry a day from the bottom if it is open? Any help will be welcome. Thanks David
