You could try Hotel Porto Loutro - Sophies Studio - This was built around a huge rock which forms one of the walls. (We watched Stavros building it 4 years ago and actually got to stay in it this year.) Lots of nooks and crannies to put candles in to make the room romantic. Scenic - If you lie on the bed with the door open you can watch the ferry almost come into your room! 10 paces from the 'beach'. Cozy - well it is compact, but there are no neighbouring walls left, right, front or back; just upstairs! so no need to worry about disturbing the neighbours. The bed is 6' wide! Good enough for fun, but big enough if sunburnt! We ended up inviting people waiting for the ferry to come in to view the room as it is so unusal. Time of year - we prefer end april, beginning may - especially if it is greek easter - you have to vacate sophies room or else you might burn up with Judas and the bonfire!! but failing that we have been told September is good as the sea is warm! We've just got back from our second visit to Loutro and loved Sophies Studio. Alison looked after us very well. Visit Loutro soon before they putin a road which the greeks want to do.
