Posted by joan I then made a phonological awareness game using precut mitten patterns. The kids worked on initial and ending sounds, compound words, two syllable words, and rhyming.

I really love doing the mitten with my students. This year, I did two different mitten stories with my older LD students. They had to compare/contrast the story, the illustrations, and the outcome of the story. It was fun and tied to the standard course of study in my school system.
