Do SLP's teach phonics to kindergarten language impaired children

How many SLP's are working on teaching phonics to their language impaired children who are kindergarten age? Does this seem to be an area that you feel SLP's address routinely, or do you feel that it's an area that is beginning to be addressed more often, but not on a consistent basis? It seems that some SLP's address phonics and some do not. Why is that?
