I used to work in a middle school and every spring had the kids plan a dream vacation. You can get free materials from AAA. By using these you can incorporate geography and high interest.You can teach some functional map reading and spelling of cities/states. AAA will give you the maps, tour books, camping guides and other colorful literature. Anything free when you are a grad student is great. Many times they will gve you out of date materials as they cycle theirs out when the new publications come in. Picture brochures are available of local and special attractions. This is really good for a child with challenging reading skills. After you finish, the child takes all of the material home. We used the materials for about a month with 2 sessions each week.
