I have used the visualizing and verbalizing program in speech for my expressive/receptive language children. I serves many purposes such as description, answering question, memory and comprehension. My concern with the use of the program for an autistic child is how to explain the process of another's perspective of explaining what they see to you for you to see. Example: You give the child a picture and have him describe it using the description cards. One task is for you to "see" the picture the child is describing without seeing it. Therefore the child must learn to predict your understanding of the picture. Depending on the child, they may not be able to do that because of the nature of the disorder? I must say it is a great way of teaching language skills if the child is ready for the method!
Good luck!
