I do a 30 minute push-in session with a 7th grade reading class once/week. The therapist who was here before me was doing phonemic awareness...but I was struggling to make that relevant to middle schoolers. I have moved more toward prefixes and suffixes, but I am still having a hard time coming up with classroom activities that are motivating and relevant to reading (I have worked mostly with younger kids, so this foray into middle school is completely new to me!). If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, I would be most appreciative!
