Oh WOW! I need that book...I teach a phonemic awareness class of 15 kids every day and did listening lessons along with my little speech groups with the book "Why SHould I Listen" and I followed up with teaching them we need our ears, our eyes to listen as well as sitting still. Then we made a picture of a child who had a head and hair and nose and mouth but was missing ears and eyes, and said he wasn't a very good listener because he was missing some very important things! They really thought this was hilarious and really responded well...Now every week, I remind them of the three things they need to have to be a good listener and the response has been wonderful! Just some ideas
