
Posted by GACgirl on 10/14/2007, 7:32 pm, in reply to "Books for artic/syntax" One of the activities they have is a blank picture from the main story, that they've turned into a game board (i.e., a big picture in the shape of a bear, with small squares in it, for Brown Bear, Brown Bear). The main vocab. from each book is broken down into phoneme lists which you can then write into the blank spaces. For preschoolers, I used Boardmaker pictures, rather than words, since these kiddos can't read. For example, I made a /k, g/ Brown Bear board game that included the pictures: cat, goldfish, looking, duck, dog, black, etc. You'll have to make the Boardmaker pix really small or blow up the bear game board on a larger piece of paper, because the squares can be really small. I don't have this book anymore b/c it's at my old job, so I can't remember what other types of games are in it, but I hope it helps.
