I have been given a language group time for the Autistic Classroom I am working with in addition to the one-on-one therapy for each child. These kiddos are 1st-2nd grade. I was thinking of making this group's focus on phonological awareness. I co-teach a social group with the social worker where the pragmatic aspects are targeted. Do you think phonological awareness is an appropriate target for these kids or does anyone else have suggestions of what I can focus on?
