Posted by Kip Hering In an effort to improve our on going battle with Gophers, we (Jocelyn) have contacted a professional gopher gasser ( Tom at Argricultural Pest Control ) who has looked at our problem and said the field is not in too bad a shape; but that the area out side the boards is a breeding ground for terrorists. He would begin by gassing them out of that area. He charges $250 for the first month and then $125 per month for subsequent months. I propose an initial assessment of $20 (payable to me) for all the players for the first month and then $10 per month thereafter, until (if) we decide to terminate the service. The ranch will pick up the short fall for the first few months. I think we ought to give it a chance at least through the spring to see if it will improve the playing conditions. Other Changes: We've bought a Honda Recon 4-wheeler and a dump trailer, to be delivered in the next few weeks , which we can use to haul sand to fill holes and low spots. The latter will be a team effort. We will also plan to purchase our own areator so that we can areate the field more frequently and more easily by towing it with the 4 wheeler. I got more exercise than I needed with the rental unit. We are always open to suggestions, so if you have an idea that will make play more fun, safe,and enjoyable please let us know. Regards, Kip
