Posted by Polonut Sept. 23, '02: The Polo Report by Steve Crowder - Bad News. It was a big weekend where the surf meets the turf land (San Diego Polo Club)., but first, I want to tell you about some absolutely bad news. The Heart Doctor, Hector Sustaita died of a massive heart attack on Saturday while playing polo at Will Rogers with his son Diego. It is a horrible loss for the polo community as Hector was a super guy and one of the top heart doctors in the U.S.A. and it was his heart that went out. We know he was doing something he loved and with someone he loved, his son Diego. He will be missed by all. Hector was a gentleman, a family man and a hell of a doctor. There will be a big vacant spot anytime you drop by the Club. Hector helped build and survive in the name of a man much like him, Will Rodgers, who like Hector never met a man he did not get along with. Some how we will always miss him. The best to a wonderful family and we wish you the best during this terrible time.

I know most of you do not know of Hector Sustaita but this is something we all must be ready for with our elder players having fun playing polo.
