Well it's good news on the Lakeside Polo front. We got our pitcher in Polo Player's Edition magazine. Page 17. The pictures were not quite as big as I would have liked, and some there was some editing to make it fit, but it's there for all to see. So much for keeping our place a secret.
Better good news. The field is looking good. That's news? It always looks good in the summer. Just some times better than others. We swept up the grass cuttings and owl feathers, so it should play faster this weekend, and replaced the broken corner post at the far end. My sister and I painted some new boards and top rails to replace the one where I bumped Spike through the boards a couple of weeks ago, and others where the rabbits have dug tunnels for their highway. We'll get those up in the coming weeks.
So things are ready to go for Friday afternoon/evening stick and ball practice to loosen up the horses and get your eye on the ball, then Saturday morning 9:00 AM for chukkers (put your name on the chukker board early and how many you can play, so you don't get left out). By the way, Lynn and company did a great job of organizing chukkers last Sunday. Fun, fast and well balanced. Funny how her team won all their chukkers...?
