JR, what I have been trying to say, and I think Steve is also, is that that casement of waste in our systems we are talking about does not take place. It has already been seperated in the water column in that it is laying on the bottom of the sediment chamber. This is BEFORE there is a barrier placed in the flow of water.
That is the reason we keep on stressing that the properly installed filter at most will be used to remove the ultra small fines.
That being said, I do understand your point. Anytime you have any solid trapped against a barrier that has water moving through it, you will always create a soup. And it is that soup that as pond builders, we aim to avoid as much as possible.
