Ah but great one, the dropping of names was not to support any point I was trying to make. Contrare, it was only to identify a group of pond owners that fall into the first grouping. Thats all.
For you see, leaving a fish in a mud pond all year long, for show purposes is pretty easy to do. They finish just fine, like you said, Japanese style, they do it very well.
What point I was making is that when you take someone that can keep a fish in their personal non mud pond, and not only have a great fish that wins, but keeps winning year after year......well that type of system gets my attention. He/They are in the 1/1000 of 1% of all ponders. And that was the point I was trying to make.
So if I offended by mentioning some very successful ponders with winning fish year after year, that was not my intent. Only to classify them as one segment of the hobby.
