Not many I've seen???? Can you point out a mud pond in Yamakoshi with a paddle wheel?????? The water can be well or spring fed but that is hardly a current! Most are quite places with some flow or no flow other than the natural overflow.
Not seen much electricity near the hidden super ponds either! Lord knows, they are located off of goat trails in the high mountains! The 'guy by the tunnel' has a giant pond on the tippy top of a mountain with maybe 1 dozen or so super jumbos. Unbelieveable view and amazing water. No paddle wheel however --- maybe because there are no plugs! Gas driven? Aeration? not for currents
As you know, I have maybe 500 pictures of mudponds/harvests and maybe 100 hours of video ( from the early days over there- early 1990s). So I kinda think I know what I'm talking about?
Brett, I love you dearly but you need to get over there again soon. As do I. I hear the mountain clan is now off of a highway in Niigata. Damned that earthquake.
Best, JR
