Jim After seeing the best of the best in the American breeders show, verses the Japanese koi that were in San Diego, I can say for sure that your dollar is indeed safe. There were several big and beautiful koi entered in the koi show, and we were very proud of our girls. It was a great way to end our showing part of the hobby. Our first GC was in SD and our last GC, it was the perfect end to our showing days. As Tom stated many of the higher end koi are not going to the shows anymore, so the American breed koi will have a better opportunity to achieve the goal as GC in the near future. It will not be because the American breeders have breed as high of a class gosanke as the Japanese it will be because there will be no other competition on that day.
