No doubt a certain someone is at this very moment in that very closet spinning wildly on his head spitting wooden nickels at your post... I'm sure some "anon" will come along to give him comfort soon

I will freely confess to being one who has said that "American Breeders are catching up", but that is a statement that must be qualified to give a proper sense of perspective. I once put it basically in terms of Domestics having once been mere specks of dust in the distance are now visible in the Japanese breeders rear view mirror. They aren't a threat to pass them up by any means or even cause them to break a small sweat, but at least they are noticed for a change.

Being competitive in sizes 3, 4, and 5 is miles ahead of where they once were and the Arkansas Bekko is as derided by the Domestic "top 10" as humanly possible. What remains elusive is the ability to perform at full maturity which is the true test. What I truly appreciate is the intensity of dedication several of them have to refining their stock far beyond where it has ever been before. One I've been watching for several years now is producing some real advancements in guanine concentration on his matsunosuke lines, and it is an exciting thing to watch develop.
