I stopped posting critques about pictures of koi long ago (well over 5 yaers) since a) you cannot adequately evaluate a koi from pictures and b)the fact that many who post such are only looking for a "warm and fuzzy" instead of true critques and thus end up taking offense to such, especially when posted on a public forum. I still give my opinions on koi pictures that are sent to me privately and c) judging koi from pictures could loosly be interpreted as a "judging acticity" and I prefer to keep that activity to "live" events. I am surprised that any judge actually posts on the boards anymore, for any reason. It seems when our old style debates occur about the facts with factual substance arise, some anon or surogate comes along to twist such and when proven wrong factually, they or the surogates take "personal shots" without merit in an attempt to discredit those who are attempting to teach...such as judges. I long ago realized this and began copying every post to every thread I become involved in (and even a few others). Heck, I even installed a seperate 250 gig hard drive for such. It comes in handy since even though not a judging or other affilliated activity, these individuals, with their own personal agendas take every opportunity to silence those who have differing opions to their personal agendas. No longer can one simply debate the issues with honor and facts. Those days disappeared long ago. I was the first to add a disclaimer as part of a signature and many who critisized such then have added them theirselves since they too have become victims of this malicious practice by those with their personal agendas. Unfortunately, NI does not allow for a "signature" where this disclaimer can be stored and automatically added to every post. It is important to understand the fact that many people offer their knowledge, FREELY. To allow those with their persoanl agendas (wether it be self promoting or promotion of others). It is a sad time that knowledge cannot be shared and debated freely within our hobby without these "interuptions."
