First let me say I have heard a great deal about you but we have never met. Some time if you are in the Dallas area we would like you to come by and see the girls and the ponds. Well I haven't gotten in a discussion with the "big" guys in quite a long time. Personally those pictures posted are horrible, photo wise. I can't tell a thing, nor would I comment on them. I'm one of those that has to see the koi in person to form my opinion, that being said We have been to Scott's place and yes we were impressed. Just like the breeders in Japan only about 10 percent are worthy. Let's be honest most people don't spend over 10K for a koi much less above that. I can only think of a handful of idiots like myself that would rather have a koi than a new Mercedes.
We have bought koi from Scott and we are very pleased so far with what they are doing. Some have shown potential and have made it to the "big" pond. Now when you compare the body, skin quality,etc they are as good as the grand champs in the pond. Smaller, but showing promise indeed. To me that is the only way you can get a true comparision of the koi, you know apples to apples. I don't think many can do this, actually put a Japan koi next to a Purdin koi. Would I post pics to show this, no. Everyone knows my limited skills with a camera much less when it comes to posting a picture. So Tom, when you have the time you are most welome to stop by and see what you think.
