Williams stainless units have a stainless collar and a plastic female pump coupler that is made over the stainless collar. This eliminates stainless threads and the possibility of galling. Dis-similar materials are always a good idea. Most don't realize that "like" materials "like" each other and want to Gall or "weld" themselves together with enough friction.
