Good to know! Thanks Larry.
Now I have a question, as you may have heard I'm moving back into marine aquariums in a big way again. And by 'big way' I mean I'm having built a 96" X 38 " X 28 " glass tank with TruView front glass. That should come in at about 440 gallons. I have PVC piping running down to a room in the basement that plumbs into my old 1800 gallon quarantine koi tank ( fiberglass finish). This is lite by three 450 watt metal halide lamps and will act as a filter/refugium for the main tank. It will be stocked with assorted inverts including some species I want to try and breed ( sea slugs and various species of calerpa.
Here's my question-- I once bought a stainless steel grid, used in the steam/steel industry for running very hot steam for steel cleaning baths ( I believe the baths use an acid?). It is a simple in-out design of stainless steel tubes ganged together to create a grid like flow of hot steam or water. I have designed a simple recirculation pump and a electic heating unit with theromostat to use this all as a giant heater in the media bed. Is there any grade SS that is considered safe or completely non corrosive in salt solutions? I assumed this was safe as it was for a much more corrosive application? Think It's safe for delicate marines? JR
