Hi Michael,this is only my take on the koi skin business.
I would have thought as the saying goes...... the layers would create a *water proof* barrier and osmosis is a one way ticked
Access to the vascular system would need to be by breach, such as an injury, parasite and bacteria. I THINK?? I read one time that there is a blood skin barrier in fish???? Like blood brain barrier in humans
I think the main ingestion of toxins would be through the alimentary canal and gills??
